00:15Analyst Chin Yi-man said the move could also possibly dispel talks about infighting in

00:20Penang DAP after Chairman Chow Kwan-yao announced he would not be defending his post in the

00:26coming polls.

00:28Last week, DAP Secretary-General Lok Siew Fook expressed support for the Sim-Lim duo

00:33and called for members to back them in the upcoming polls.

00:38Media reports have previously speculated about an internal conflict between former Finance

00:43Minister Lim Kuan-eng's and Chow's camps.

00:47Chin said the state chapter needs to be led by those who are known at both state and national

00:51levels.

00:53He also said Kuan-eng's support for the duo would carry weight, given his position as

00:57the party's national chairman.
