Hi I'm Theo with Manchester World, today I'm out on the streets of Manchester asking people about
00:04
privatisation and that's because Labour have promised to re-nationalise the railways and
00:08
what that means is taking it back under government control. Privatisation has been a big part of the
00:13
UK for a long time now and we want to know whether people think any industry has been
00:17
improved by privatisation and whether they think that the move to re-nationalise the railways
00:21
is a good thing. I don't know, I don't know, it's a complicated issue but I think I'm
00:26
leaning towards I'd rather it be national. I think it's always a hard argument for something
00:31
that doesn't work well that's currently privatised so with that in mind I think
00:36
nationalisation would be a good shout for it, how much do I trust them to do that properly and run
00:40
it as a business efficiently is probably equally questionable. I think it would just make rail
00:45
travel easier in general you know not just from like a financial standpoint but I just think
00:49
across the board it'd be way better if the trains were nationalised. I got the train on Friday I
00:53
think it's like £10 from here to Warrington which is just feels like a lot I suppose.
