Labour calls for rail nationalisation after more fare rises

Labour’s shadow transport secretary has called for the rail network to be renationalised and fares to be capped. Andy McDonald described the annual fare rises as “ridiculous” and the reason for a decline in rail use. The increases came into effect after the Rail Delivery Group's announcement last month that fares would rise by an average of 3.4%. Report by Blairm.
