Leeds locals reveal what they would like to see announced in October’s Autumn Budget.

00:00I'd like to see the taxes imposed on those who've got plenty of money and so I would

00:06say inheritance tax, I would certainly say capital gains tax and I would say that if

00:12you look at the upper levels of income tax, I think there'd be no problem for me in

00:17that being taxed. I think I'm quite in favour of the winter fuel allowance being stopped

00:23for pensions who can afford it.

00:25I hope there's a bit more focus on the environment because it's really gone on the back burner

00:29recently I think, people have sort of, there are so many issues obviously that need to

00:34be dealt with and I feel like the environment has gone a bit on the back burner.

00:37We are going to have to accept that we'll be a bit worse off for the foreseeable future

00:43and from my personal point of view, I know personal tax increases have been ruled out

00:49but I don't actually mind paying more tax to get a better NHS and to get better public

00:55services because I think it's shocking the way things have deteriorated over the last

00:5910, 15 years.

01:00Cold weather payment for the elderly, that's been stopped, which is not right.

01:07Help for people on universal credit, NHS, need more money put into NHS as well.

01:16Partly just the housing crisis really and partly the healthcare as well, it's all really

01:22under-budgeted and everything's going up through prices and it's a bit annoying.

01:25I'm a pensioner, I'm not on pension credits and I'm going to possibly struggle a little

01:30I don't think I'm going to freeze to death but I'm going to have to watch my pennies

01:41I think personally, yeah, bus lanes, cycle lanes, just keep them to one side please.

01:50I think the Worsoft pensioners really need to be protected and Rachel Reeves has an important

01:54job to do in the Olsen budget to make sure that those Worsoft pensioners are actually

01:58protected.
