00:14trains coming in and out of Shanghai have been cancelled. The

00:18city's 25 million people have been told to stay at home. If they

00:22weren't among those hundreds of thousands of people who were

00:25already told to evacuate, authorities have issued their

00:28highest red typhoon alert across the region. Severe gales and heavy

00:33downpours expected along China's southeast coast before Beibingka

00:38is to move more inland towards the provinces of Jiangsu, Anhui

00:42and Zhejiang. By then, it should somewhat have weakened. This is

00:47the most powerful storm to hit the city in seven and a half decades

00:52because usually this type of weather phenomenon stays much further

00:55south, so it is very rare for Shanghai to experience something

00:59like this. Beibingka landed just as China's three-day bank holiday
