00:00Yeah, there's still a bit of a confused picture emerging at the moment.

00:04There is conflicting pieces of information coming in at the moment.

00:09So far, we know that the spokesperson for the Trump campaign has said that Donald Trump

00:14is safe.

00:15That also backed up by the Secret Service, who say they are investigating after there

00:19were shots fired in the vicinity of his West Palm Beach resort.

00:23At the moment, we don't know whether those shots were fired outside or inside of the

00:28bounds of that golf club, or whether Donald Trump himself was indeed the target of that

00:34shooting.

00:35It appears, by some accounts, that he wasn't.

00:39There's also conflicting reports as to whether the shooting was taking place between Secret

00:43Service and members of the public, or it was two members of the public shooting at each

00:47other.

00:48Those details still not yet fully realised.

00:51We are learning, sorry for looking down, but we are getting stuff coming in to us as this

00:55is happening.

00:57We are hearing that the West Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department will be holding a press

01:02conference about this shooting.

01:04They don't give a time for that conference just yet.

01:06But also on X on Twitter, we are hearing from Donald Trump Jr., so Donald Trump's son.

01:12He says that an AK-47 was discovered in the bushes per local law enforcement.

01:17The Trump campaign has released a statement confirming former President Trump is safe.

01:20A suspect has reportedly been apprehended.

01:23Again, that cannot be verified by us.

01:26That is the words of Donald Trump Jr. on Twitter.

01:29But so far, we have not had that backed up by law enforcement, nor by the Secret Service.

01:34And we are waiting for more information to be verified and to be confirmed by police

01:39sources before we get a better idea of what's happening.

01:44We know also the president and the vice president have both been briefed on this as well.

01:49They say that they are relieved that the former president is safe, and both the vice president

01:54and the president will be kept up to date on this as the situation develops.

01:59And we will do the same for you, our viewers, as well.

02:02And Fraser, of course, this is all happening while the campaign for the race to the White

02:06House is going on.

02:08Yeah, it's obviously quite a trying time.

02:13And of course, remember, it calls your mind back just two months ago now.

02:16So much has happened since then that in some ways it's almost easy to forget.

02:20But Donald Trump was a survivor of an assassination attempt on his life in mid-July as well.

02:27So security is heightened around him because of that in the wake of that shooting.

02:32And of course, it is something that the Secret Service is now extremely wary of because they

02:37came under a lot of pressure in the wake of that assassination attempt.

02:41They actually lost the head of the Secret Service after a parliamentary review.

02:46She stepped down, stepped aside from the job.

02:50Those investigations are still ongoing into how that happened.

02:54So it takes place against a backdrop of a heightened tension within the Secret Service

03:00and wider electorate as well.

03:02So no doubt this will be closely watched by Kamala Harris and by the Democrats as well

03:09to see what is happening with this incident.

03:12But obviously at the moment, everybody just relieved that once again, Donald Trump is

03:16safe after this shooting.

03:18But once again, no confirmation that this shooting was actually directed towards Donald

03:23Trump but rather happening in the area that he also was in.

03:26We'll confirm that once we know more.
