Welcome back Sunbro, we hope you all in great health and great money.

00:09
Alright, today we are going to talk about, Antisocial Personality Disorder, Psychopath
00:14
and Sociopath. People with ASPD can seem witty and charming but also lie and take advantage of
00:19
others without remorse. They often act recklessly and don't feel guilty when their actions harm
00:24
others. Modern diagnostic systems recognize ASPD as including two similar but distinct conditions.
00:30
A psychopath is someone whose harmful actions are calculated, manipulative, and cunning,
00:35
they usually lack real emotion and only imitate empathy. This is a more severe form of ASPD,
00:40
and such individuals can be deceptively charming. In contrast, sociopaths can form some attachments
00:46
but still ignore social rules. They are generally more impulsive, disorganized, and easily agitated
00:51
than psychopaths. ASPD affects 2% to 4% of the population and is more common in men.
00:57
1. Symptoms – People with ASPD may lie, con, and exploit others, act rashly and aggressively,
01:04
break the law and social norms, disregard safety, showing no remorse, fail to meet responsibilities,
01:10
and fight or assault other people. 2. Who's at Risk – Antisocial
01:14
Personality Disorder is more common in men than in women. While the exact cause is unclear,
01:18
experts believe genetics and biological factors, particularly in psychopathy, play a role.
01:23
Growing up in a traumatic or abusive environment is also considered a significant factor,
01:28
especially in sociopathy. Research suggests that brain defects and injuries during developmental
01:33
years may also be connected to ASPD. Possibly because they often break the law, many prisoners
01:38
have ASPD, with about 47% of male and 21% of female inmates affected. Children with
01:44
conduct disorder are at higher risk of developing ASPD.
01:47
3. Diagnosis and Treatment – To diagnose ASPD, signs of conduct disorder must have appeared
01:53
before age 15, though diagnosis isn't made until 18. Symptoms often peak in the late teens and
01:58
twenties but may improve with age. ASPD is tough to treat, as people with it rarely seek help.
02:04
When they do, behavioral therapy or psychotherapy may help, along with certain medications for
02:09
symptoms like impulsive aggression. There are no FDA-approved medication specifically for ASPD.
02:15
If someone close to you has ASPD, consider joining a support group or seeking help from
02:19
a mental health professional. You can't change their behavior, but you can learn to set boundaries
02:24
and protect yourself. Thanks for watching, Sunbro. Please subscribe, like, comment,
02:30
and share if you find this helpful. Come again to our next meeting Sunbro.
