00:541996's A Family Thing, and 2021's Coming to America sequel.
00:59The actor, who made his Broadway debut in 1958,
01:02earned two Best Actor Tony Awards for his work on the stage over the years.
01:06He also was the recipient of an honorary Oscar at the 2011 Governor's Awards,
01:11which made him an EGOT winner, aka one of the handful of people to earn an Emmy,
01:16Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.
01:18Jones was notably the first actor to win two Emmys in one year.
01:21In 1991, he took home trophies for the ABC drama Gabriel's Fire and the TNT telefilm Heat Wave.
