00:00The Philippines received 8 awards at the 31st World Travel Awards or WTA during the Asia

00:06and Oceana Gala Ceremony 2024 held at the City of Dreams.

00:11This year marks the first time the country has hosted the WTA Gala thanks to a partnership

00:17between the Department of Tourism or DOT and the Tourism Promotions Board or TPB Philippines.

00:24The country was named Asia's leading dive destination for the 6th straight year along

00:29with Asia's leading beach destination and Asia's leading island destination.

00:34Other recognized locations include the Wall City of Intramuros as Asia's leading tourist

00:39attraction, Boracay as Asia's leading luxury island destination, and Cebu as Asia's leading

00:46wedding destination.

00:48Tourism Secretary Cristina Garcia-Fasco revealed a special award for her leadership in tourism.

00:55The Philippines also won Asia's leading marketing campaign 2024 for the Love the Philippines
