September will be the best month to view Saturn this year, starting on Sept. 8 when the gas giant reaches opposition. Here's how you can view the planet.

00:14Saturn, famous for its majestic rings, will reach opposition, an area in its orbit where

00:21it is directly opposite to the Sun in the sky.

00:25During opposition, Saturn is roughly at its closest encounter to our planet and it will

00:31be visible all night long for stargazers around the world.

00:36The best time to see the gas giant will be when it rises overhead at midnight.

00:41You don't need a telescope, but having one will allow you to see Saturn's rings and

00:46some of the planet's largest moons, including Titan.

00:50Even if you miss opposition, the planet will continue to shine bright all month long.
