The gas giant, Jupiter, will reach opposition on the night of Dec. 7. The gas giant will continue to shine bright for the remainder of the month. Catch our solar system's largest planet at its best!

00:22Because Jupiter will be located in the exact opposite part of the sky from the sun, the

00:27planet will be visible all night long.

00:30A telescope is not required to watch Jupiter, but if you have one, you'll be able to see

00:35the gas giant's colorful clouds, its great red spot, and its four largest moons, Io,

00:41Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto.

00:44The next Jupiter opposition will not occur until 2026, so catch a great view of Jupiter

00:50while it remains bright this month.
