Heat and storms on tap for Labor Day weekend

If you have any outdoor plans for Labor Day weekend, AccuWeather's Damien Lodes has a forecast you'll want to check.

00:00So that's going to be a nice little welcome relief for anyone getting a jump start on any of those Labor Day plans.

00:04And speaking of that, yeah, Jeff's been talking about if you're getting any Thursday plans, Thursday travel plans,

00:09yes, there will be some scattered showers and thunderstorm chances from time to time.

00:12But overall, it's going to be pretty nice here setting up for.

00:15So this is what I'm tracking right now.

00:17This is your Friday travel outlook for us where it's green.

00:20You're a OK either if you're flying or if you're driving now in the yellow.

00:24We're going to call it fair conditions.

00:26There will be a couple of showers and thunderstorms around.

00:28So that will definitely slow down, primarily driving travel plans.

00:32But if you are flying, there could be some intermittent delays

00:35that we could see here as we head throughout your Friday.

00:37So we'll be continue to track that and keep you up to date on the latest with that

00:40as we head throughout your Friday.

00:42But then for the weekend, we will see some more rainfall chances.

00:45But here's a look at your overall Labor Day forecast.

00:48The Midwest and the Great Lakes, beautiful weather.

00:50But if you live across the south, pretty much along or south of I-40,

00:56yeah, you will see some rain chances there for your Labor Day forecast.

00:59And there will be enough of a rain and thunderstorm chance on Labor Day

01:02to where if you have any outdoor plans, I know that's a really good outdoor holiday.

01:06You might have to bring those inside

01:07because of the rainfall chances we're going to be seeing.

01:09So highs on Labor Day.

01:11Hey, overall looking a OK.

01:13We'll see some more moderate weather here, especially across the Pacific Northwest.

01:17But overall temperatures, what you would expect for this time of year,

01:19we'll see a mix of 80s, 90s, a couple of shower and thunderstorm icons there

01:23for parts of Texas and the Gulf Coast and the parts of Florida.

01:25So, yes, there will be those rainfall chances here for us.

01:28But as far as your Labor Day weekend forecast for Saturday,

01:31Sunday and into Monday across the northeast, overall, Saturday is looking great.

01:35Sunday is looking great.

01:36But we will start to see some rain chances on Sunday.

01:38But after that, we'll clear out and can't ask for any better weather than this

01:41on your Labor Day Monday for New York, Boston, D.C., Philly and Pittsburgh.

01:44Look at that.

01:45Sunny skies, highs in the 70s.

01:47That's a beautiful forecast for Labor Day across the rest of the north

01:50and northeast Philly, upper 70s, Boston, mid 70s.

01:53So overall, we're going to see some really nice weather here

01:55for the next couple of days as we head into your Labor Day forecast.
