00:00In release news Danzig has finally lined up a European release date for his US

00:06hit single Mother. The 1994 live version of this 1988 song will be issued on the

00:1418th of April. We caught up with Glenn Danzig in his Los Angeles home to talk

00:19about the surprise success of Mother second time around and loads of other

00:24things. For so many years people were scared to play our stuff and all of a

00:29sudden they're saying oh it's like much ado about nothing. It's like you know gee

00:32this isn't that scary.

00:39I remember when I wrote Mother I said this is the song I always wanted to

00:42write it's powerful it's like you know it's incredible and I guess maybe at the

00:47time it was just a little too powerful and too incredible because it scared a

00:53lot of people. You know at that time the PMRC was in full swing and it was

00:56basically what that was about.

01:08The throw of a Demon's Sweat Live of the four live songs were recorded at Irvine

01:12Meadows last year or two years ago on the How the Gods Killed Tour. We played

01:17in front of 13,000 plus people and a lot of the bands that do get airplay and

01:23were the big bands at the time couldn't sell that place out. We oversold that

01:29place. That was kind of a big middle finger to everybody. You get some band

01:34who just wrote Satan, Satan, kill, kill, murder, murder okay. Sure you know

01:39Kitty's gonna love that okay but you know is there anything there? No there's

01:45nothing there. So what I'd rather do is scratch the surface and delve into it

01:50you know and you know let people decide for themselves.

01:55Speaking of the forces of evil Glenn Banzig was sleeping peacefully at home

01:58in Los Angeles last month when the big LA earthquake hit. So we had him give us

02:02a tour of the devastation. When the earthquake hit basically I was sleeping

02:06and I got woken up when a bunch of dressers fell on my head. Yeah cut my

02:10nose and my legs have got all screwed up and anyway I just rode it out but the

02:17house was going like a funhouse like this and my house rocked back three

02:22inches away from its foundation and I had to have it all shored up. Here's some

02:27of the damage from the earthquake. This is my weight room. You can pan but my

02:31stained-glass windows came off which wasn't too cool. I've never been through

02:36anything like that in my life. I've been shot at, stabbed, you name it and it wasn't so

02:41much the earthquake it's the afterwards. It's like you know you can't really do

02:46anything to control nature. Nature does what it wants. This is another thing I

02:51kind of write about where you know you can try and control the world but you

02:54really can't. And Danzig is currently working on a new studio album which will

03:00be released in the summer to coincide with a major headlining tour of Europe.
