00:00Malay is a minority group that has lived in China for more than 500 years.

00:03Their language is also known as the missing language of the United Nations.

00:09The Portuguese occupied Malacca in 1511,

00:11and ruled for more than a century.

00:13During this period, the Portuguese and the local people were married.

00:16Their descendants are called Portuguese O'ya Hunsher.

00:19At present, the population is about 20,000,

00:20but they generally call themselves Christian.

00:24This word originates from the Portuguese language Christal,

00:26which means Christian.

00:27Christians are Catholic from their ancestors.

00:30But no matter what they sing, dance, or eat,

00:33they may not be found in their native country, Portugal.

00:35Their mother tongue is Christian,

00:37which even Portuguese people can't understand.

00:39This language is mostly used in Malay,

00:42and is also influenced by English and Chinese dialects.

00:44Now it has been listed as a seriously disappearing language by the United Nations.

00:48There are only less than 2,000 people in the world who speak this language,

00:51mainly concentrated in Malacca.
