Members of Skegness Public Living Room, who are Platform Housing residents, have been busy creating poppies for Royal British Legion Remembrance display around the Clock Tower.

00:00So we set up a public living room just over a year ago and we're always looking

00:04for ideas for the group to, you know, activities for the group to get involved

00:09in and it was actually Karen and one of her friends Elaine that saw that the

00:14Royal British Legion Skegness were advertising for people to create poppies

00:18for an exhibition in November. So we just thought it was a great thing for our

00:23group to do and in fact a few people from outside the group also got involved.

00:27And you've got them all here, just have a quick look at some of the work that's

00:31been done. Karen, you know, what led you to want to do this?

00:39I just thought with being local and also coming to the group it was a good idea of a project for the group to do.

00:46Because it's a coffee morning isn't it normally?

00:48It is, yes, it's a coffee morning, yes.

00:50And we do lots of other activities as well.

00:53So let's have a look at some of these stones, absolutely lovely aren't they?

00:59There's a lot of camouflage netting going around that clock tower so it'll be really useful to help weigh it down.

01:06And are the poppies, are they from the pattern that the Royal British Legion...

01:12They are, yes. We printed the pattern off and we handed the pattern out to different people, family and friends.

01:19So how many poppies are there?

01:22327 and 33 stones.

01:27Wow, and how long has that taken you to do?

01:30I don't know, a couple of months probably.

01:33Well they do need thousands and thousands.

01:36We are going to carry on.

01:38So I'm sure they'll be pleased, yeah.

01:40You must be really impressed with what they've achieved.

01:43I am, I'm so pleased that people have come together, not only from in this group but also from outside of our group.

01:52So yeah, it's just been really lovely for them to get involved and to create this for the group.
