00:00NBA calendar dates to know as we get ready for a new year in 2024 25 we have

00:09watched a lot of basketball in the last two weeks over in Paris the United

00:13States men's basketball team winning a fifth consecutive gold medal we're

00:17feeling good about the hoops as we get ready for a new NBA season but not

00:22really until October we got the Christmas Day slate last week now we get

00:27opening night around the Association from our guy at FanDuel TV Shams Sharani

00:33opening night of the 2024-25 NBA season on TNT for the last time in this

00:40current media rights deal the last season of NBA basketball at least at

00:44this juncture on TNT it is October 22nd 2024 the opener on ring night inside TD

00:51Garden the Celtics will host the New York Knicks the Lakers will take on the

00:55Minnesota Timberwolves Anthony Edwards the young emerging star against his

01:00Team USA teammates LeBron James and Anthony Davis that is opening night in

01:05the NBA to tip off the 2024-25 NBA campaign yeah the opening night's always

01:11fun in every sport and the same thing probably goes down the NBA we'll all

01:14enjoy that first game watch it and say you know what it's fantastic the NBA is

01:18back and then we'll go to sleep during the second game because it'll probably

01:20be on at 1030 at night ridiculous actual planning by the NBA but it is

01:24what it is Nick Celtics will be great I'll just wake up just like 90% of the

01:28country to find out who won that late game and look at the box score yeah I

01:33would agree with you there there was always a ton of excitement for the start

01:37of an NBA season then it dwindles a little bit we have the NBA Cup once

01:41again we'll have that ready for you here number two of the end season tournament

01:48the Celtics by the way the odds are out a five and a half point favorite against

01:52the Knickerbockers the over under 221 and a half in Beantown on opening night

01:57will Jalen Brown be playing with a fury this season after being left off the

02:03United States Olympic team and he watched his three other C's teammates

02:08Jason Tatum barely play for Team USA true holiday and Derek White some

02:13significant contributors for the United States the Lakers a small underdog at

02:18home against Minnesota of course the Timberwolves made it to the Western

02:23Conference Finals a season ago is it a new era out west where teams like the

02:28Lakers the Clippers the Suns pave way to the younger teams on the rise OKC

02:33Minnesota Dallas and of course the Denver Nuggets other known NBA schedule

02:38dates October 23rd the net the next night the opener for both teams in

02:44Philadelphia the 76ers and the Bucks the Clippers will open up their new

02:50stadium the Intuit Dome with the wall of fans or whatever they're calling it for

02:55the Clips they will take on the Suns in that opener exciting stuff in Los

03:02Angeles for sure yeah I'm telling you you know night-to-night basis and you

03:06know we'll watch the NBA with a sort of one eye on it and say you know what

03:10I'm fully focused on football during those early parts of October November

03:14and December then once we get into those winter months here in the Northeast

03:18that's where it really starts to capture at this point but it is exciting to see

03:21some of those matchups and it's some fun ones here like the NBA just like any

03:25other league tries to put compelling matchups on early in the season you know

03:28Doc Rivers coming back to Philadelphia with the 76ers and Paul George in that

03:32lineup Giannis will be healthy those are great games and the Suns so talented

03:36taking on the new look Clippers first day in their new stadium that's great

03:39stuff here I don't see anybody that sees this and says you know what I'm not

03:42excited for the NBA to come back around because I do think the NBA got a nice

03:46little boost over the summer just by taking a look at how the Olympics played

03:50out and it's a perfect launch pad because we are in mid-August so we're

03:54also ready for the NBA and we're not too far away from the NBA season PG in his

04:00debut in Philadelphia that move moving the Sixers to the second shortest price

04:04to win the East Boston of course a short favorite in both the conference and when

04:09a second consecutive Larry O'Brien trophy other big days on the NBA calendar

04:14outside of the Christmas slate the Mavs and the Warriors clay will make his

04:19return to San Francisco to take on the Dubs a new era in Golden State for sure

04:26then the NBA Finals rematches that we have the Celtics visit Dallas first the

04:30Mavericks make a return trip about a week and a half later in early February

04:34to TD Garden Donnie make your play right here for opening night in the NBA or

04:40maybe some of the opening week at least to feature in some daytime basketball

04:44opening day in the NBA now granted we're still in the midst of football season

04:49but what happens if the NBA was like you know what Friday afternoon is gonna be

04:53our opening day game at one o'clock on the East Coast that Celtics Knicks game

04:57game at four o'clock on the West Coast unbelievable banner ratings out here if

05:02you don't like money that's okay NBA players I know you make a lot of it max

05:06contracts 300 plus million dollars I can bump it to 400 million within a matter

05:11of two to three seasons by selling ads because ads will be running to the

05:15television saying like we got to get involved in this new Donnie Wright side
