Ukraine presses its cross-border incursion to 1,000 sq km of Russian territory

00:00Ukraine has claimed control of more than 28 settlements in and about 1,000 sq. km. of Russian territory as Kyiv presses its biggest cross-border incursion.
00:11Army Chief Oleksandr Serebskiy says Ukraine continues to conduct the operation in the Kursk region seven days after it began.
00:20His claims were backed up by the governor of the Kursk region, who acknowledged that Ukrainian mobile groups advanced 12 km deep and 40 km wide into Russian territory.
00:31The Institute for the Study of War, ISW, says that Ukraine's operation in Kursk has allowed forces there to at least temporarily seize the battlefield initiative in one area of the front line.
00:44They say it has forced the Kremlin and Russian military command to react and redeploy forces to the sector where Ukrainian forces have launched attacks.
