This couple found a puppy living all alone in the desert — they had no idea that their family would change forever ❤️ We are celebrating Pride Month by spotlighting some of our favorite LGBTQ+ pet parents, their pets and rescue work.

00:00We were camping in the desert and found Choya.

00:04Millie, come here, come here, come here.

00:05Millie, we don't know what's going on.

00:07He's so little.

00:09Babe!

00:11Oh, he's sweet.

00:13He was extremely nervous.

00:17We gave him eggs.

00:21Now we're searching for the rest of the puppies

00:23because we think that they're out here in the desert.

00:25Oh!

00:28Ready?

00:31We decided to let him sleep in our van that night

00:33because we couldn't just leave a stray puppy

00:35alone out in the cactus.

00:39I've been up most of the night

00:41just staring at this puppy.

00:51He was like quivering under this bench,

00:53so terrified of everything.

00:56Oh, Tori, he really likes you.

01:06He's wagging his tail.

01:14That's so cute.

01:22All the other people already had dogs,

01:25so we were really the only option in the group to foster.

01:27We weren't going to leave a puppy out,

01:29so we fostered him.

01:31He got comfortable with us,

01:33but he was still afraid of all these new things.

02:04Slowly, he became this really quirky, spunky puppy.

02:16He was friends with everybody.

02:20He was like the star of the show,

02:23That exposure helped him really open up

02:27and become less afraid of things.

02:52Our bond with him grew so much

02:54through traveling together in Mexico.

02:56It's like he chose us.

03:04He had no intention of getting a dog in Mexico,

03:06but through time, he became part of our family

03:08and it just felt like an impossible idea

03:11to let him go.

03:23Oh gosh. Oh goodness.

03:27He demanded to come in here

03:29and then just exit like that.

03:33Hi baby.

03:35I could not imagine our lives without him at this point.

03:37He is our perfect dog.

03:40He is just the quirkiest, funniest little guy.

03:46I'm just so excited to continue traveling with him

03:48and have the best time with him.
