00:00All right, let's go to the game at Snoopy tonight between the Lions and Giants who have

00:08had about 30 fistfights this week.

00:12And both teams are getting fined 200 grand.

00:13But by the way, it is going to rain, barring a change, in Russelford tonight for the Giants

00:19hosting the Lions.

00:20Now the Giants, I'd be surprised if the starters play very much at all.

00:23In fact, what I was told was they want to take a good look at their backup linemen.

00:26Their offensive line was terrible last season.

00:29Daniel Jones, by the way, looked good.

00:30He looked healthy.

00:32He threw the ball well this week.

00:34They are way faster on offense.

00:35The guy to watch tonight is Theo Johnson, the tight end out of Penn State.

00:39The fourth round, it was a vertical tight end.

00:41He got down the seam against the Lions defense.

00:44The Lions felt that their first day that their offense didn't perform as well as they would

00:49have liked.

00:50The second day, they were much better.

00:51But man, the Giants here, they're kind of in a new beginning on offense.

00:55Brian Dabble, by the way, is taking over play calling for Mike Kafka.

00:58Kafka, who was the offense coordinator last year and called plays for most of last season.

01:03He's going to be up in the booth.

01:05And defensively, by the way, Wynt Martindale, he's gone.

01:08He's now with University of Michigan.

01:10Shane Bowen comes over from the Titans, where he was a protege of Mike Grable.

01:15The defense will not be as aggressive.

01:17It's going to be more disguised and late movement.

01:19A lot of dropping for the linebackers, but it's going to look different.

01:23And the Giants here, they're not in a rebuild.

01:25They've refused to say that.

01:27There's sort of any retooling of this roster.

01:29And then when you look at the Lions here, it's just taken it to the next level.

01:34They've got rebuilt their secondary.

01:36They feel great about their offense.

01:38My understanding is they're planning not playing on most, if not all the starters will be rested

01:44tonight.

01:45But there's a saying in the NFL with coaches, you can't rest everybody.

01:48Some of the starters are going to have to play, but most key players will not play tonight

01:52for the Lions.

01:53And they look sharp.

01:54By the way, they're one of the few teams that actually will have live tackling during practice.

01:59They don't do it like the Raiders, as I told you last week, who had a live hitting 35 to

02:0440 minutes.

02:05But they will hit.

02:06And they are a very aggressive team.

02:08And it shows.

02:09And they're certainly one of the lead teams.
