00:00All right, let's talk about the story that just keeps on giving, which is the Hertz and

00:10Sirianni relationship in Philly.

00:32Fowler, who I ran into last week in LA, they put this piece out, really detailing the issues

00:37between Sirianni, the head coach, and the quarterback, Hertz, and my understanding is

00:42there was a major disconnect between the two.

00:43Jalen got paid.

00:44He got his contract.

00:45He wanted more responsibility.

00:46He wanted more on him after his MVP-like performance in 2022, and Sirianni had a scheme that worked

00:53really well in 22.

00:54Yes, he didn't call the plates, but it was his scheme.

00:58He wanted it to stay the same, and it was stale, and that was not going to work with

01:01owner Jeffrey Lurie, who's all about innovation on offense and offensive football, so there

01:07was a change there.

01:09They brought in Kellen Moore, who's running his scheme.

01:12Nick's not going to have much to do with it.

01:23The big story here is the head coach and quarterback getting on the same page in Sirianni's

01:29interference last year, which did not go over well with anyone, and look, I know they made

01:33the playoffs for his first three seasons, Scott, but let's call it like it is.

01:38Not only do they have to make the playoffs, they're going to have to make a deep run because

01:40they had a very aggressive offseason last year.

01:43They did not.

01:44They had a very aggressive offense offseason with Taequann Barkley at a running back, which

01:50was a major move.

01:52Two new coordinators.

01:54There's a high expectation, Scott, within the Eagles building that they're going to

01:57take a big jump this season, and they need to with that roster.

02:00How in God's name did he keep his job if nobody likes him and they collapsed the way they

02:06did, and they brought him back for what, like they think they're going to like him now?

02:10Once they don't like somebody, they never change their mind.

02:17I think what happened is he lost his way a little bit.

02:20He needed to get himself righted, and he did apologize to the team in the offseason, but

02:24this coach, though he made the playoffs for the first three years and made a Super Bowl

02:27two years ago, he's absolutely got the spotlight right on him.
