School Caregivers in Taiwan Demand Protection from Discrimination

Over 1,500 school caregivers from across Taiwan gathered in Taipei to express their anger at the education and labor ministries.

00:06Over 1,500 caregivers gathered in Taipei to demand better pay and protections against unfair treatment.

00:13They say there is no mechanism for them to address unreasonable evaluation grades that hurt their pay and their chances of bonuses.

00:20They also say they are dealing with long working hours and staff shortages.

00:25We can no longer tolerate the current workplace environment.

00:31We call on the Ministry of Education to provide our caregivers with a better workplace environment so that they can retain outstanding talents.
