00:00In this context, we will contact now our colleague Gladys Quezada for more information from Caracas, Venezuela.
00:07Hi Gladys, how is the atmosphere there in the capital?
00:10Yes, thanks for the time and the contact here from the south and for our audience.
00:16Right now, currently, I'm at Canteve, which is one of the many telecommunications enterprises here in Venezuela
00:24and also is one of the concentrations and the gathering points for this great and large Chavista March
00:32today, Saturday in the afternoon, that is heading towards the Miraflores Palace.
00:37But I have to tell you why this concentration today and why this gathering and also why Chavismo is packing the streets.
00:46As you know and as our audience recalls, July 28th was a pivotal day.
00:51It was a great day for Venezuela as the people of Venezuela went to the polls
00:55and re-elected President Nicolás Maduro Morales for another term.
01:00After that, just right after, many international opposition organizations
01:05and also the radical extreme right-wing organizations said they did not acknowledge the results of those polling
01:14and afterwards started outbreaks of violence here in Caracas,
01:20attempting to looting and to do terrorist actions against some social works, social buildings, institutions
01:28and also against the people of Venezuela.
01:30All of that to discredit and to contest violently the results of the elections.
01:36Afterwards, President Nicolás Maduro Morales called for peace in the country.
01:42He said that this is a nation of peace, that this is a nation of dialogue and concord.
01:47Afterwards, as you know, and yesterday he was before the Supreme Electoral Tribunal
01:55and there he was trying to intercede with a recourse of legal action, of legal nature
02:03to assess and to do audits of these last elections to validate and to reinforce the electoral results of July 28th elections
02:14that, as I was saying, were contested by the U.S. authorities and also by the right-wing opposition,
02:22the extreme opposition, because I have to say that many of the other candidates,
02:26the other former presidential candidates were acknowledging, were accepting the results
02:32and also they presented to this call by the President Nicolás Maduro Morales.
02:38Well, today, one day after, and as a contract for another march from the opposition,
02:45from the radical violent opposition, today the Chavismo bases, the Chavismo followers,
02:52they are here to do this march, to hold this rally that is heading towards Miraflores Palace,
02:59the seat of the government here in Venezuela.
03:02They are calling for peace, they are asking for support for these election results,
03:08they are backing what they decided at the polling stations back on July 28th
03:13and also they are backing a project, the Chavismo project, which is bigger than just an electoral result
03:20and which is bigger than just an electoral or a political conflict here in Venezuela.
03:26They are backing the continuity of the Bolivarian revolution,
03:30the continuity of the Bolivar and Chavez ideals, I beg your pardon there,
03:36and they are trying to continue with what they have been constructing for 25 years and so on.
03:43So, right now, the march is heading towards Miraflores, they are going to the Urdaneta Avenue
03:50and they are going straight away for Miraflores Palace
03:55and there will be a large gathering of all Chavismo organizations,
03:59all the organizations that conform the great patriotic ball
04:03and also it is suspected that the highest authorities of the government,
04:08of President Nicolás Maduro Moros, will be there accompanying the gathering
04:12and accompanying these organizations and movements that are backing and supporting the decisions.
04:19So far, this is what is going on right now in Venezuela.
04:23You can listen to all the noise because this is the music
04:27and this is the joyful celebrations that are gathering and accompanying this rally and this march.
04:33This is the information I have.
04:35I hope we could have other contacts further in the afternoon and further in other broadcasts,
04:41but so far this is what I can say and I'm going to summarize.
04:44This is a large, a really large march that is heading towards the Miraflores Palace
04:50as a way to show support for President Nicolás Maduro Moros
04:54and the results of July 28th presidential elections that called the win
05:00and called the victory for the great patriotic ball
05:04and also for what is Bolivarian revolution and what is the Chavismo here in Venezuela.
05:11So far, that's the information and back to you right now.
