Collingwood’s Midfielder Scott Pendlebury to play his 400th game

Collingwood Scott Pendlebury is set to join an exclusive club becoming just the sixth player in the games history to play 400 games. But Saturday nights clash with rivals Carlton takes on added importance as the Magpies season hangs in the balance.

00:14Scott Pendlebury will be the first player from Collingwood to achieve the 400 game feat.

00:18The 36-year-old midfielder soon to join the likes of Sean Burgoyne, Michael Tuck, Dustin

00:23Fletcher, Brent Harvey and Michael Bartlett.

00:26It doesn't sit comfortably with me sitting up there with those guys but as I said I'm

00:31extremely humbled with those guys turning up today to pay tribute.

00:35Since coming into the league Pendlebury has achieved a lot in his 19 seasons in the AFL

00:40becoming a dual premiership player, a six-time All-Australian and a five-time club best and

00:45fairest winner.

00:46But the Collingwood stalwart isn't ready to hang up the boots intent on playing next year.

00:50I love that feeling when the siren goes and when that feeling goes I don't love it anymore

00:54I feel like it's boring that's when I know it's time to give it away or my body fails me

00:58but at the moment I still have that passion to play.

01:00And the All-Times Games record isn't that far away. Pendlebury is 33 games away from

01:05matching Brent Harvey's mark.

01:07I'll shake his hand if he gets there because I know how hard he would have had to work.

01:10Collingwood is one of the clubs on the outside looking in at the finals picture ahead of

01:14a crucial clash against traditional rivals Carlton.

01:17The match taking on added importance for the Magpies if they want any chance of playing

01:21in September.
