What it Looks Like to Have a Seat Along the Seine for the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremonies

TIME Senior Correspondent Alice Park takes us along the Seine River in Paris where spectators are taking their place ahead of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic games.

00:00I'm Alice Park and I just arrived at my spot on the Seine for the opening ceremony.

00:06It's about 5.30, I got here around 4, but you have to get here early enough to grab

00:10a seat because, or in my case, a standing spot on the bridge will take you over here

00:16so that you can see, that we'll be able to see the boats as they come by.

00:25And there are seats set up along the Seine for people who have purchased tickets and

00:31this will be the first time ever for an Olympic opening ceremony that won't be held in a stadium.

00:38So I'm going to show you here in a second the vantage point and how things are set up

00:49here.

00:54So that'll be the view of the boats, of the athletes as they come by, and there are screens

00:59set up as well and that's where opening ceremonies will take place for everyone who has tickets.
