Clive Gunshaw, Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire here today at Horton, the police
00:05
headquarters here in Lancashire, having my regular catch-up meeting with the Chief Constable,
00:13
finding out what the challenges are to policing within Lancashire and what we are doing now
00:20
to ensure that the people of Lancashire are being kept safe. Later this morning,
00:26
I'll be going out with members of the business community in Preston, having a look at the
00:32
difficulties that they are facing. It's really important to have that engagement with people
00:38
from the business community across Lancashire. I'm also taking the opportunity today to visit
00:45
the Police Call Centre here at Police Headquarters. The people that are taking
00:51
your calls if you've got any issues, any concerns, any crime, antisocial behaviour,
00:57
to find out what the demand is and how we can quickly make sure that the police are deployed
01:04
to where they need to be. It's really important to make sure the police are in the right place
01:11
at the right time. And finally, what I would urge is that people participate in the consultation
01:20
that is ongoing at the moment on the new Police and Crime Plan for Lancashire. It's open until
01:27
the end of September, but the sooner you get back to me the better, because it's really important
01:33
that I know what are the challenges that you face, what the concerns are, what you would like to see,
01:39
and what is your police service. So the more people get involved with that, the better we
01:47
can deliver on what are your priorities for policing in Lancashire. Thank you very much.
