The Law Society of Kenya has strongly condemned the arrest of three peaceful protesters in Ukunda, Kwale County.

02:17We are telling them to be charged.

02:19We have cash bail.

02:20We are ready to take it out.

02:21They should be released.

02:22It is their rights to be released.

02:24Or they should be taken to court.

02:26Those are threats.

02:28They are trying to intimidate people

02:31so that they don't express their feelings.

02:35Which is not allowed.

02:36And we will not allow.

02:38And we just want to remind the youth in Kwale

02:40that the time is now.

02:42And whatever you are doing is the right thing

02:44at the right time, at the right place.

02:46Do not be intimidated by the police.

02:48As the law society, Kwale branch,

02:50we are ready to give you support, legal services.

02:53And if anything happens to anyone,

02:55we just need to be notified.

02:57We were all in our offices,

02:58and when we were told three people have been arrested,

03:00we were there in less than five minutes.

03:02So do not relent.

03:04Come out in numbers

03:05and remind the government that they need to deliver.

03:08Your right to picket, your right to protest

03:10is enshrined in the constitution.

03:12And the police, whatever actions they take,

03:14they have to work within the parameters of the law.
