Hey, how you going you fellas out there? It's Uncle Russ. We're here to celebrate
00:06
NAIDOC celebration. It's been great so far. We've had some fantastic days and we
00:13
had our basketball here just a couple of days ago. There's a big
00:20
dinner out at the racecourse coming up soon and it's just been a wonderful
00:25
celebration so far and I'm just so happy and proud to be part of it.
01:25
The theme this year is keep the fire burning and that's something that that's
01:50
very strong and powerful in our hearts and spirit today. We want to keep that
01:55
fire burning. We want to keep our culture alive. We want to keep our
02:00
Aboriginality and our life here living on this land. This is Budapest country.
02:06
This is my people's country and it always was and it always will be
02:10
Budapest country. We are the First Nation people and we celebrate that today as
02:16
the first custodians of this land and that's why we've got to continue to keep
02:21
that fire burning because people just don't realise that when they voted no
02:27
against our people they voted against us as recognising us as the first of this
02:32
land. So that's what I mean. We've got to keep this fire burning.
02:37
We've got to re-insure our children, our generations that you are the people of
02:43
this land and just be proud and be strong and keep that fire burning in
02:48
your heart and spirit.
