Pittsburgh Pirates' rookie sensation Paul Skenes has been named the starting NL pitcher for the 2024 MLB All-Star game!  Our guy Chris Mack is loving every minute of it.

00:04and gold posters all over his wall, who's already bought tickets for the first week

00:10after the All-Star break or anything like that as a Pirates fan, I don't say this.

00:13But legitimately, it feels like as a baseball fan, even as just a sports fan in general,

00:20this has given the All-Star game more energy. Again, I don't know if I'm too close to it being

00:25in Pittsburgh, but that's what it feels like. It feels like the summer of Skeens has given the

00:32All-Star game more energy this year than it would have had last year, the year before,

00:36or any other year in recent memory. I think, Chris, it has given baseball more energy

00:44this year as a whole. Regular season games, more energy. So yes, thousand percent,

00:49it's given the All-Star game more energy. I will have a bowl of popcorn ready on my couch

00:55Monday night.
