Post punk rock band from Tampere, Finland. The group was formed in 1983 and lasted for two albums and two singles before disbanding due to internal conflicts. They were active again since December 31st 2017. "Bella ciao" was their debut single.
"Bella ciao" was based on an Italian folk song of the late 19th century, sung by female workers (le mondine) of the paddy fields in Northern Italy in protest against harsh working conditions. After the II World War by changing some words it was adopted as a partisan song against the occupying troops of Nazi Germany and the collaborationist Fascist forces. Seems like the song was never sung during the war.
