00:06River basins, and many other rivers recording threatening and dangerous water levels.
00:11The average rainfall in Huangshan City over the past nine days reached 580 mm, equivalent
00:18to the amount of water in 200 west lakes.
00:22Several villages next to the Xinan River in Anhui Province were submerged in floodwaters
00:28of up to 4 meters in depth on Friday.
00:31Some 58,000 people in Huangshan were evacuated to higher grounds and temporary relief centers.
00:40In Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, rescue personnel evacuated many residents stranded in their
00:45homes and business premises.
00:49From Wednesday to Thursday, water levels of 22 rivers in Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangxi and Zhejiang
00:55Provinces were reported to have exceeded dangerous levels.
00:59Authorities said another round of downpour is expected to lash the Yangtze River basin
01:04from Friday to next Tuesday, mainly affecting the lower reaches of the river.
01:09On Thursday, China's Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Emergency Management announced
01:14the disbursement of 496 million yuan, which was the latest tranche of natural disaster
01:20and relief funds for the affected provinces.
01:23In total, the government had allocated more than 2.3 billion yuan for the flood relief
01:27efforts that had begun more than two weeks ago.
