00:00In the face of the continuous strengthening of tourism in the Philippines, the number of Filipinos who have been given a job in this sector has increased.
00:08According to the Department of Tourism, the Philippine Tourism Satellite Accounts of the PSA released data
00:16that 6.21 million Filipinos have been given opportunities because of tourism.
00:23This is 6.4% higher than the estimated 5.84 million in 2022.
00:33And for the first time after 24 years, the tourism sector has estimated that the largest part of this is due to the development of the country's economy
00:43or the gross domestic product, which has reached more than Php 2 trillion.
00:48According to Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, this trend proves the priority of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in the tourism sector.
