Three economic collaborations between Malaysia and China will significantly bolster supply chain resilience, fuel trade expansion in the services sector and attract high-quality investments, said Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.

00:00Malaysia-China bilateral relationship with economic cooperation at its core for the past half-century
00:07has indeed left an indelible mark.
00:10We have forged linkages in numerous areas, notably in railway infrastructure and technology,
00:18the automotive sector, manufacturing, fintech and trading, among others.
00:24Businesses between both our countries have achieved numerous milestones together,
00:30milestones that bring tangible benefits to both our nations.
00:35In embracing the future, Malaysia is dedicated to further solidifying
00:40our existing robust economic ties with China,
00:43and we have taken concrete steps to achieve this,
00:46as evidenced by the three landmark documents agreed upon yesterday.
00:51So Minister Wang Wentao and I had the honour of signing the five-year programmes
00:57for economic and trade cooperation between Malaysia and China,
01:00along with two additional MOUs on strengthening investment cooperation
01:05in digital economy and green development.
01:08These three agreements pave the way for a new chapter of economic collaboration,
01:13fostering even more shared prosperity for both nations.
01:18So I am confident that these new initiatives will significantly contribute
01:23to bolstering supply chain resilience, fueling the expansion of trade in services sector,
01:30attracting high-quality investments, as well as mainstreaming digitalisation,
01:35sustainability and innovation, while also deepening human capital development
01:41and people-to-people ties.
01:43I am thrilled to share that Malaysia and China are deliberating an exciting new cooperation
01:49under the Two Countries Twin Parks Framework.
01:52In fact, the Prime Minister mentioned about two countries but multiple parks framework.
01:59We are also building on our successful collaborations in advanced manufacturing
02:04and electric vehicles, which will unlock new opportunities in these key sectors.
02:10So I look forward to jointly announce the conclusion of discussions
02:14on these new cooperation arrangements in the near future.
