Police officer accused of shooting dead US embassy employee outside a Kiambu nightclub released on Sh300,000 cash bail pending charges.

00:00To follow up on the same, the council on the other hand, representing the respondent, is

00:18So it's undisputed that the accused person has been detained since the 28th of May, 2024

00:22to allocation case that the file had been forwarded to Homicide Division in Nairobi.

00:27There is no indication that the respondent is a flight risk or that he will in any way

00:31interfere with the witnesses if released on cash bail or bond.

00:35It is for these reasons that I allow the prayer by the council for the respondent and grant

00:39the respondent bond of Kenya Shillings 1 million with assurity of similar amount and the alternative

00:45cash bail of Kenya Shillings 300,000 with two contact persons.

00:48The matter shall be mentioned on the 24th of June to confirm status.
