00:00 Hacking group Shiny Hunters claims that it has stolen the personal details of 560 million
00:07 customers of Ticketmaster and Live Nation globally.
00:10 Now that would be a huge number of affected customers if true.
00:14 It says it has the names, the personal email addresses, home addresses, along with credit
00:20 card details of these customers.
00:22 It claims on a dark web forum that it has around 1.3 terabytes of personal information
00:28 and is currently trying to sell this data on the dark web right now for $750,000.
00:34 So how do we know that the dark web claim is authentic?
00:37 Well we don't, but the hacker has released a data sample which I've seen.
00:41 It does appear to show the names and addresses of individuals in the UK, the US and Germany,
00:48 along with partial credit card details.
00:51 This data though has not been verified.
00:53 We don't know if it's accurate.
00:55 There are some social media hacktivists that are a bit suspicious of it.
00:59 They say there has been another claim made on another dark web forum by a different hacker
01:03 claiming to have the same information.
01:06 So we don't know yet if it's true.
01:08 However, it wouldn't be the first time Australian customers have been caught out by this hacking
01:13 group Shiny Hunters.
01:15 They claim to be behind the leak of around 200,000 Australian customers to Pizza Hut
01:20 and that occurred last year.
01:22 And what's Ticketmaster had to say about the breach?
01:24 Well we've tried to contact them multiple times.
01:26 We've called, emailed the office in Australia.
01:28 We've also tried to contact Live Nation, which is the parent company.
01:32 We have not had a response from either.
01:35 We have heard from the Department of Home Affairs.
01:37 A spokesperson said they are aware of a cyber incident affecting Ticketmaster and their
01:42 national office of cyber security is in contact with the entertainment giant.
01:46 Thanks, Heidi.
