00:00The major announcement of Labor's campaign was $100 million for a new aquatic centre
00:07in Commonwealth Park and the design of a new convention centre on the current Civic Pool
00:12site.
00:13It's a 50-50 deal with the Territory Government.
00:16Chief Minister Andrew Barr wants the design work on the new pool to be done by the end
00:20of next year, with construction to start soon afterward.
00:24But any building work on a new convention centre will have to wait until the new pool
00:29is finished.
00:30After putting Medicare front and centre of its bid for re-election, Labor pledged almost
00:35$4 million to prop up Interchange, one of Canberra's largest bulk-billing GP clinics which was at
00:41risk of closure.
00:43Another $10.5 million will go towards attracting more GPs for up to three new bulk-billing practices.
00:50That's on top of a new Medicare Urgent Care Centre in Woden.
00:54A further $10 million is on the table for more aged care respite beds, though the urgent
00:59agency on that front has eased, with the Burangiri Respite Centre staying open for another two
01:04years.
01:05There were other promises too.
01:07Before the campaign officially started, Labor pledged to finish the NBN.
01:11It would mean fibre-to-the-node connections for about 97,000 Canberra households by 2030.
01:19It's also put $3.5 million on the table for seven new crisis accommodation homes for people
01:25fleeing domestic and family violence.
01:28And some parks and sporting facilities in Belconnen and Tuggeranong can also expect an upgrade.
01:33The NBN is seen in the past 5 years of the NBN.
01:37If you look at the 1998 summer, the NBN machine in Belconnen and Tuggeranong can also see the
01:43money for over 40 years.
01:45So we let this happen as some of you can add in some of you.
01:51But you can see a lot of the money.
