00:00I think makeup and hair and clothes and everything can kind of turn you into a character, and that's what I love about it.
00:08I love to see how people put my products together and how they mix products with certain things, and I never would have thought of that.
00:15They've given me ideas to create products as well, so I like to see, you know, what it can do.
00:30I did a song and the song was called Rare, and I ended up naming my album that.
00:49I ended up tattooing that on me, and it's because the song meant a lot to me during a time in my life where it was saying,
00:56I don't have everything, I'm not perfect, but I know that I deserve to be treated special.
01:01And that was the overall message, so I thought it would be really fun to name it Rare Beauty.
01:07The beginning, when I first created Rare Beauty, I wasn't sure if I was going to be excited about doing something unless it incorporated giving back in some way.
01:21So before the makeup products even happened, I wanted the brand to be some sort of resource for people as well,
01:30because I feel like if I'm here, I might as well do as much good as I can.
01:36I think for me, inclusivity was always from the get-go what we wanted, because, I mean, even the first campaign we shot, I didn't want necessarily models.
01:58I wanted what everyone and what we look like when we wake up and not have all this stuff.
02:04I wanted it to be real women that would use it and share their own story along with it.
02:10So we ended up giving names to these faces, and they created this whole idea of this isn't just for someone of a specific type.
02:21It's for everyone. It's for anyone who wants to try to play with makeup or go to the community for any sort of mental health resources.
02:34What do you think that Rare and Fendi or you and Rihanna have in common?
02:49First off, I'm so honored that I can even be in presence of Rihanna.
02:56I think it's honestly about putting what we believe behind it.
03:01Obviously, I can't speak for her, but everything seems so true to who she is, and I think that's very iconic and great.
03:11I'd like to say it's because we both put our heart into it, but I'm very honored. That's very flattering.
03:16We are live on TikTok, streaming the Rare Beauty Mental Health Summit. Tune in now.
03:27My goal would be to build such a strong community that the Rare Impact Fund that is with Rare Beauty that I would actually hope that we could make and continue to make change.
03:39As far as the products go, I think the possibilities are endless, and I'm not shying away from anything.
03:48I think I'm just taking my time because I don't know if I'd want to push every idea out right away.
03:55I sit with my products. I have testing, and I just sit there and use it all the time, and I'll just kind of live with it for a bit.
04:03So we'll see. Hopefully, it'll keep doing its thing.
