"I'm getting my engagement ring made into a divorce pendant"

A woman is turning her engagement ring into a divorce pendant to make her feel "strong and beautiful".   Lauren Elizabeth, 32, had an on and off marriage for seven years before she and her partner called it off in February 2024.  Lauren hadn't worn her $11,000 AUD diamond engagement ring for several years but didn't want to sell it or give it back.  After seeing model Emily Ratajkowski turn her rings into divorce rings Lauren looked into doing the same thing.  She has now sent off her engagement ring to be redesigned into a simple necklace with a silver chain.

00:37 So when you start the remodeling process, generally you take your rings into the jewel

00:42 that you've chosen and they'll look at your rings along with the valuation and kind of

00:45 give you an idea of what's possible and what's not possible.

00:48 So my original plan was to keep my eternity ring and have it resized.

00:52 Apparently that's not possible because it's got diamonds all the way around and it's

00:56 just not viable to do so.

00:58 So I'll likely have to just end up selling that or wearing that on the opposite finger.

01:02 Whereas with my engagement ring, I had a couple more options.

01:05 So I could have had it made into earrings, an entirely new ring, but I personally really

01:09 wanted a diamond pendant.

01:11 What I did was to make it really clear for the jeweler, I just went on Pinterest and

01:14 TikTok and screenshotted the ones that really stood out to me and kind of presented them

01:19 as a reference.

01:20 So from that point, they send all your information away, all your ring stats away and kind of

01:24 outsource it to the person that makes them and you kind of have to wait to hear back

01:28 about the quotation process.

01:29 I've just heard back and I've gotten the design and I'm so happy.

01:34 It just feels like it's given an entirely new life to this piece of jewelry that just

01:38 had such a negative connotation.

01:40 It just feels beautiful again.

01:42 So I'll show you the proposed design now and then I'm assuming once I approve everything,
