One dead, 30 reported injured as Singapore Airlines flight hit by turbulence

A Singapore Airlines flight from London made an emergency landing in Bangkok on Tuesday (May 21) due to severe turbulence with one passenger on board dead and multiple injuries.

00:00A Singapore Airlines flight was hit by severe turbulence and forced to divert to Bangkok
00:07on Tuesday.
00:09One passenger died and about 30 others were injured following the turbulence.
00:14The flight SQ321, carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members, landed at the Suvarnabhumi
00:21International Airport at 3.45pm.
00:25The aircraft departed from London's Heathrow Airport Monday evening and was supposed to
00:29land at Singapore's Changi Airport at 6.10pm.
00:33A passenger on the flight described the incident as an awful experience, saying that he had
00:38helped out as much as he could.
00:40He said his heart went out to the male victim who died in the incident.
00:44The airline said they were working with the Thai authorities to provide the necessary
00:48medical assistance and were sending a team to Bangkok to help out.
00:59Singapore's Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat said he was deeply saddened by the incident
01:04and his ministry and other agencies are providing support to the affected passengers and their
01:09families.
