Multi-tier levy mechanism implementation by January 2025, says Sim

Implementation of the multi-tier levy mechanism to reduce recruitment of foreign workers is slated to commence next January, says Human Resources Minister Steven Sim.

Sim told reporters at a joint meeting between the Human Resources Ministry and Home Ministry on Migrant Workers Management on Monday (May 20) that the ministry would need to study several details including the threshold of the levy for the mechanism before being tabled to the Cabinet for the implementation.
