Mumbai Hoarding Collapse: Death Toll Rises To 14 After Illegal Billboard Falls At Petrol Pump

At least 14 people died and 74 were left injured after a massive hoarding fell on a petrol pump in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar. The incident took place on May 13 after the financial capital of the country witnessed heavy rain and dust storms. The 100-foot-tall illegal billboard fell at Chheda Nagar-based petrol pump amid heavy rain and dust storms. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted overnight rescue operation for people trapped under the hoarding. The huge hoarding was erected by Ego Media. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued a notice to the media agency, asking it to immediately remove the remaining three hoardings. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the site of the collapse. He announced an aid of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased. Watch the video to know more.
