State Trooper Not-A-Pursuit - April 23, 2024

On the afternoon of April 23rd, 2024, a Louisiana State Police trooper assigned to the notorious Troop F (Monroe) attempted to stop a black Toyota Tacoma pickup truck for an unspecified reason, in the city of West Monroe. The driver did not stop, but turned his hazard flashers on and waved out of the window as if to let the trooper know there was a reason he wasn't stopping. The driver continued for approximately 1 mile, leading the trooper on a slow-speed pursuit before pulling into the animal hospital. As it turned out, the driver was trying to get his sick or injured pet to the animal hospital. Given Troop F's infamy for being unreasonably and criminally violent with people, it is surprising that the trooper quickly let the driver go with only a citation.
