00:00 >> Good morning.
00:01 >> Good morning, sir.
00:03 >> It's a good day for America. It's a good day for Europe.
00:05 And it's a good day for world peace, for real.
00:07 This is consequential.
00:09 I just signed into law the national security package
00:12 that was passed by the House of Representatives
00:14 this weekend and by the Senate yesterday.
00:17 It's going to make America safer.
00:20 It's going to make the world safer.
00:22 And it continues America's leadership in the world,
00:24 and everyone knows it.
00:26 Gives vital support to America's partners
00:29 and so they can defend themselves
00:30 against threats to their sovereignty
00:32 and to the lives and freedom of their citizens.
00:35 And it's an investment in our own security
00:38 because when our allies are stronger --
00:40 and I want to make this current again and again --
00:42 when our allies are stronger, we are stronger.
00:44 It's a path to my desk. It was a difficult path.
00:48 It should have been easier and should have gotten there sooner.
00:51 But in the end, we did what America always does.
00:54 We rose to the moment.
00:56 We came together and we got it done.
00:59 Now we need to move fast, and we are.
01:03 I'm making sure the shipments start right away.
01:06 In the next few hours -- literally, in a few hours,
01:09 we're going to begin sending in equipment to Ukraine
01:13 for air defense munitions, for artillery,
01:16 for rocket systems, and armored vehicles.
01:18 You know, this package is literally an investment,
01:23 not only in Ukraine's security, but in Europe's security.
01:27 My commitment to Israel, I want to make clear again,
01:30 is ironclad.
01:31 The security of Israel is critical.
01:33 It will always make sure that Israel has what it needs
01:36 to defend itself against Iran and terrorists it supports.
01:39 And with this aid, the United States is going to help
01:42 replenish Israel's air defense and provide other critical events
01:46 so Iran can never carry out the destruction
01:48 it intended with its attack 10 days ago.
01:51 But at the same time, this bill significantly --
01:55 significantly increases humanitarian assistance
01:58 we're sending to the innocent people of Gaza
02:00 who are suffering badly.
02:02 They're suffering the consequences of this war
02:03 that Hamas started.
02:05 And we've been working intently for months
02:07 to get as much aid to Gaza as possible.
02:10 Speaker of the House Mike Johnson,
02:11 Leader Jeffries, Leader Schumer, McConnell --
02:15 they don't always agree, but when it matters most,
02:19 they stepped up and did the right thing.
02:21 And I mean this sincerely -- history will remember this time.
02:24 History will remember this moment.
02:27 For all the talk about how dysfunctional things
02:29 are in Washington,
02:30 when you look over the past three years,
02:32 we see that time and again on the critical issues,
02:34 we've actually come together.
