Strikes advance at Lancashire’s ELE Advanced Technologies over pay dispute

Workers at Lancashire’s ELE Advanced Technologies - who are members of the UK’s leading union, Unite - have voted overwhelmingly for strike action beginning on Wednesday 1 May after failing to reach an agreement regarding pay.

00:08 A CEO comes into a workplace and tells people who have been making profits for the company for a generation

00:16 that they need to do more for less and everyone will share in the rewards.

00:21 What happens then is the CEO takes all the rewards, moves on to the next company

00:27 and a new CEO comes in and repeats the same lie.

00:31 We're not having it. Our members at ELA Advanced Technology in Nelson have had enough.

00:38 Today we're issuing notice of industrial action on May Day.

00:43 We will join them and stand shoulder to shoulder in their fight for fair pay.

00:48 It's up to the company because they can settle this tomorrow.

00:52 If not, we'll see you on the picket line.
