Interstate police have been called in to Alice Springs as the town approaches the end of its temporary curfew. The South Australian officers are due to arrive next week to allow Top End officers to return home. It comes as the Territory Labor government makes its third funding announcement in as many days to bolster the Territory police force which has struggled to attract enough officers. The government remains confident it can meet the ambitious recruitment targets.
