Clash at the Castle hosted outside Cardiff this year

After the massively successful Clash at the Castle event in the principality stadium in 2022, WWE have decided to take the 2024 edition to Glasgow. The event will be much smaller that what we saw in Cardiff, but many wrestling fans will be disappointed not to see their idols fight it out in the capital city once again.

00:00 Clash at the Castle was one of the biggest wrestling events of 2022.
00:04 For the first time in over 30 years, the WWE brought a headline show to the UK.
00:09 And for fans across the world, it certainly didn't disappoint.
00:13 Some of the biggest names in wrestling featured at the headline event,
00:16 but sadly, Welsh wrestling fans will have to go all the way to Glasgow
00:20 to see their idols in the 2024 edition of the event.
00:24 WWE have decided to take the event to the Hydro Arena,
00:27 which in stark contrast to the over 60,000 fans in Cardiff last time around,
00:31 only hosts 14,000 spectators.
00:34 So realistically, the event will be nothing like what we saw in Cardiff.
00:37 Welsh Government Ministers who were a big part of bringing the event to Cardiff
00:40 have said the Glasgow edition isn't comparable to Cardiff's
00:44 and are not disappointed to be missing out on what will be a much smaller scale event.
00:49 It's estimated that Clash at the Castle brought more money to the local economy
00:52 than any Six Nations game in Cardiff
00:54 and will certainly be remembered by wrestling fans in Wales
00:57 and across the world for years to come.
