Lord Cameron signals that there will be "consequences" in the wake of the death of jailed Russian opposition leader Alexi Navalny. Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, the foreign secretary says: "Reflecting overnight makes you think what an incredibly brave man this was. His life revealed so much about the true nature of Putin's ghastly regime. And his death has revealed that all over again". Report by Blairm. 00:00 Reflecting overnight just makes you think what an incredibly brave man this was.
00:05 His life revealed so much about the true nature of Putin's ghastly regime
00:11 and his death has revealed that all over again, what we're actually dealing with.
00:16 There should be consequences when appalling human rights outrages like this take place.
00:22 What we do is we look at whether there are individual people that are responsible
00:26 and whether there are individual measures and actions that we can take.
00:30 We don't announce them in advance so I can't say any more than that
00:33 but that's what we'll be looking at.
00:35 Of course we've already summoned the ambassador
00:37 and we've made clear our views about this dreadful event and the way this person was treated.
00:41 And of course being here in Munich means that I'm going to be meeting with G7 colleagues,
00:46 other foreign ministers and we'll have the discussions with them.
00:49 I'm clear we'll be taking action and I would urge others to do the same.
