Glasgow headlines 13 February: Man arrested and charged for George Square vandalism

A man has been arrested and charged over acts of vandalism in Glasgow’s City Centre, including the centopath on George Square.
The monument was defaced with graffiti stating the ongoing conflict in Gaza was a “real holocaust”.
Police have now confirmed a 46-year-old man has been charged in relation to the vandalism.
Next up, a dog trained to help those living with dementia in Greater Glasgow is looking for a new home.
It is believed the Labrador could help someone facing milder stages of the disease and is part of a project run by Alzheimer’s Scotland.
And in other news, Actor Sharon Rooney who starred in Barbie will be among judges for the biggest prize at this year’s Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
The Sir Billy Connolly Spirit Award is given to a performer who is said to embody the city.
Rooney will join Tony Curran and Janey Godley is selecting a shortlist.
