A couple of young lovers who live opposite each other and work in the same salon have dreams of musical stardom. Gracie (Gracie Fields) sings the songs, and her boyfriend Laurie (Richard Dolman) writes the songs. Luck looks to of come their way when they are asked to perform at a party, only for success to go to Laurie's head and for him to fall in love with a showgirl...
