Universal Music retire ses chansons de TikTok !

Dans une tournure surprenante, TikTok perd l'accès à la musique de certains des plus grands noms de l'industrie comme Drake, The Weeknd, Taylor Swift, et bien d'autres, suite à l'expiration d'un accord avec Universal Music Group.

Les tentatives de renouvellement du contrat ont échoué, principalement à cause de désaccords sur les compensations financières et les protections contre l'intelligence artificielle.

Universal reproche à TikTok de sous-évaluer la musique et d'utiliser des tactiques d'intimidation, tandis que TikTok accuse Universal de cupidité, mettant en péril les intérêts des artistes et auteurs-compositeurs.

La décision d'Universal d'arrêter l'utilisation de ses morceaux sur TikTok risque d’affecter certains créateurs de contenus, notamment les edits qui s'appuient sur des titres d'artistes populaires de la maison de disque pour créer leurs contenus.
