Tainy caught up with Billboard's Rania Aniftos at the Billboard Power 100 Party 2024.

00:08 And of course, we're at the Power 100

00:10 celebrating super powerful people in the industry.

00:12 You're here with your manager, Lex.

00:13 How has it felt to be able to celebrate someone

00:16 that has built you up from the ground up, basically,

00:19 in your career?

00:20 I mean, it's special.

00:20 You know, every time my team gets a--

00:22 We're talking about you.

00:23 Oh, yeah.

00:24 That's the man.

00:25 Yeah, every time the team gets a win, it's a win for all of us.

00:29 So it's special for him to get his work and his impact

00:34 recognized and appreciated.

00:36 I think I couldn't ask for a better partner

00:39 in this journey.

00:40 So I'm happy for him and excited to be here.

00:42 That's amazing.

00:43 And what advice do you have for someone who's just starting out

00:46 in the industry now, who wants to get to where you're at right

00:48 now?

00:49 I think touching just exactly that, finding the right team,

00:53 I think, is ideal.

00:54 The right person to go with you.

00:56 You know, on the right, I'm a producer.

00:58 And when I started doing music, my expertise and my talents

01:03 weren't in the business side of all of it.

01:06 And dealing with the people and the labels and stuff,

01:09 it's not something that we're built.

01:11 We don't have that knowledge coming up.

01:14 So to have somebody that understands that side,

01:16 but also understands the creative and the artistic side,

01:19 I think it's a special thing.

01:20 And they should really look for that person.

01:23 It doesn't always come at the beginning.

01:25 I started when I was 15, and I met Lex, I don't know,

01:28 like five years ago.

01:29 So it was a while until I can find that person that really

01:33 take me to that next level.

01:34 And as you get bigger, it's important to have people

01:36 that you trust in your circle.

01:38 Exactly.

01:38 I think that's the basics of it, to trust and understand

01:42 one another.

01:43 And I think that's something that I

01:44 know we have from the beginning.

01:46 So to see it grow and get to these places, I think,

01:49 is special.

01:51 Leslie, what are you looking forward to this year?

01:54 I mean, I just hope we have an amazing year,

01:57 a lot of good things, whether it's in music,

02:00 whether it's in life, family, and all those things.

02:03 I just think that we're going to have a really cool and exciting

02:07 2024.

02:08 Let's see what it holds.

02:09 And I'm excited for it.
